Launch of Oldford
Welcome to Oldford VA & Bookeeping.
After much deliberation the doors are opening at Oldford VA & Bookkeeping and we are super excited.
The blog section of my website will be the place for recent developments and news in both virtual assistance and bookkeeping. Explanations on practice and general advice that you can make use of in your own life and small business.
Oldford VA & Bookkeeping has been born out of the development in remote working after the pandemic and it helped to set me and my family on this journey.
At the beginning of the pandemic I caught a glimpse on the news of the Easter church service in April 2020 and although I am not involved in the church what was said really spoke to me.
"There needs to be a resurrection. A New normal. Something that links to the old but is different and more beautiful" Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby
To be honest it probably means something much more profound than starting a business but it spoke to me and got me thinking. All that time being able to work from home, being with my family and the change of lifestyle was amazing and once the world started to open back up our lives all went back to the same rhythm as before which is not what I wanted. The lockdown lifestyle was something I wanted to have back in some form and so set about a lot of research and evaluation.
I expect a lot of families and working mothers have gone through the same old Google search "work from home jobs" and came up with the same results as me and a lot just don't fit but a virtual service business kept coming up and got me thinking, “sure I can do that”.
So that led onto more research and discussions with those close to me and the result is this, Oldford VA & Bookkeeping. Making use of my finance and organisation skills and offering that out to others, all the while being able to fit in with my family, have a different pace of life and ultimately show others what I can do and get the commendation.
Check back regularly on my next post I plan to explain exactly what is a remote worker as although there have been many individuals and companies offering remote working for a few years the pandemic has really allowed for the industry to become a force to be reckoned with.
Take care. Emma.
